From the Outings Chair

Carol Vellutini
Chapter Outings Chair

I would like to welcome Rose Marie Hester as Outing Chair for the Mendo Group. She lives in Caspar. We hope to train new leaders and offer a program in that area. Needed is a coordinator for the Solano-Fairfield area. Any takers?

We had a successful winter trip season, attracting members from Loma Prieta and Mother Lode Chapters on our trips. Paul put together an educational winter camping seminar. Jim, Roger and Paul made a terrific leading team. We are lucky to have a winter program. We made it to Peter Grubb, Bradley, Ludlow and Benson Huts.

Alison Barker is a new leader for the Napa Group. She will be leading hikes. The Napa Singles have

started up again after many years without leadership. Potlucks and activities are fun and meeting new members is a way for Sierra Club to gain more volunteers. Thank you Pat and Gerda.

Hope to see many of you participate in your local California & National Trail Days. State and Regional Parks need our help more than ever as the maintenance budget is cut and staff is laid off.

Look for upcoming trips to our potential wilderness areas. Last spring and summer we had some great trips.

Have a great spring.
