California Tiger Salamander!

Yes! There's a Strategy
to Save Our Famous Amphibian!
Come Learn About the Impacts and Implication

Wednesday, April 20, 2005
7:00 to 9:00 PM
Environmental Center
404 Mendocino Ave., Suite A
Downtown Santa Rosa

The Santa Rosa Plain Conservation Strategy Team has been working for the last year developing a strategy to deal with issues raised by the recent listing of the California Tiger Salamander as an endangered species.

The goals of the strategy include:

  • habitat conservation plans for the threatened California Tiger Salamander and listed plant species
  • identifying proposed conservation areas
  • developing an implementation framework for short and long term actions
  • establishing development process predictability

The final Strategy report is now in public review, or soon will be. Come join us to learn more about these threatened species and their impact on the Santa Rosa Plains.

Our Forum this night will host a panel including several members of the Team, plus a local biologist who has long experience with local Tiger Salamander lore and habitat surveys.

Some of the evening speakers will be:

  • Dave Cook - Sonoma County Water Agency and biologist
  • Keith Kaulum - Sierra Club's own and the Environmental Representative to the Santa Rosa Plains Strategy Team
  • Other representatives and experts not yet confirmed at publication time

Call 544-7651 for more information. All Sierra Club members and the general public are invited.
