Help Needed - Get Involved Locally

Solano Group has teamed up with several local movements to preserve and protect areas from development. Please get out and help these groups in your hometown.

• Fairfield/ Suisun City
  Potrero Hills Landfill is planning an expansion. They are located just past Lawler Ranch on Highway 12 which is also just south of Travis Air Force base and 2 miles from a 8500-acre Wildlife Preserve. We are watching it with Yoshida and Dwight. Earth Day Festival at Civic Center Lake, 11am - 3pm.

This event will feature Earthcapades, Recycling and Environmental information, food, raffles, music and more.

VALCORE 2005 Recycling Workdays: Feb 19, April 9, June 4, July 16, August 27, September 17, November 12. We work from 9 am to Noon. $50 is offered to volunteer supervisors for their favorite classroom or environmental project. Call 644-9183 or e-mail jabogner@juno.com.

On Feb 19, we cleaned Curtola parkway from Lemon St. to Sonoma Blvd for VALCORE's Adopt a Street program. Thank you Doris & Rollye Wiskerson, Sam McGee, Nancy McCoy, Ray Anderson, and Jane Bogner. We picked up 97 pounds of trash and 146 pounds of recyclable materials. Nancy brought us a hot lunch, what a treat.
