Sonoma State University's Environmental Technology Center (ETC)

Carpool leaves the Santa Rosa Environmental Center at 9:30 am

Dr. Alexandra "Sascha" von Meier,
Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Environmental Studies and Planning and
Director of the Environmental Technology Center at Sonoma State University

(and possibly a panel of other energy experts)

 

Speaking on:

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE:

Dr. von Meier teaches energy management and design and global environmental issues. Her focus includes diverse aspects of energy technology and policy, including electric power: photovoltaic systems, power distribution, global climate change, renewable energy, sustainable buildings and more.

 

FIELD TRIP, YOU SAY?

On Saturday, Sept. 22, travel to SSU to visit the ETC with Dr. von Meier. From the ETC's website: this building "is a dynamic, interactive and integrative 2,200 sq. ft. facility where people...can work together in applied research training, academic study and collaborative environmental projects. The building includes a wide range of integrative design features, including energy and water-efficient landscaping, 'smart building' control technologies, environmentally-sensitive building materials, passive solar heating and cooling, advanced window systems and daylighting, solar electric technology, and digital communication systems."
