VALCORE Workdays
NEW UPDATED SCHEDULE: VALCORE workdays in 2001 are August 25, October 13. We work from 9 am to Noon. $50 is offered to volunteer supervisors for their favorite classroom.
VALCORE Community Recycling is our grass roots recycling center. It is run solely by 9 non-profit member groups who share in the sale of the materials. You can donate all your CRV containers directly to Sierra Club in the Buy-Back area to raise more money for the club. Please consider bringing your recyclables down at least once a year. Government Liaisons
Liaison: We desperately need members to act as government liaisons for the cities of Benicia, Fairfield, and Suisun, Vacaville, Rio Vista and the County Board of Supervisors. Typically, the volunteers would review/attend the City Council/Board of Supervisors Agenda and inform the Executive Committee on issues with environmental concerns/interest. Build/Repair Hiking Trails
If physical labor in the great outdoors is your cup of tea, call Rollye Wiskerson at (707) 642-9870 to help build/repair hiking trails in Vallejo/Benicia. Rollye and his volunteer crews go out religiously almost every 2nd Saturday of each month.

Coastal Clean Up day
Coastal Clean Up day activities: Clean-up events will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2001. To volunteer or obtain more information, contact Jane Bogner at (707) 644-9183 or jabogner@juno.com.
Volunteers at various events can receive items such as shopping bags, T-shirts, hats, water bottles, and fanny packs with either Sierra Club or VALCORE logo.
