statewide coastal victories and threats to our local coastline.

Downtown Santa Rosa

Tuesday, September 9th

Humboldt County Library

The Great Coastal Places Campaign is entering its second year and has just had a huge victory with the California Coastal Commission, who last month passed a resolution on the updating of Local Coastal Plans. This resolution asks the governor and the state legislature to give the commission more power to update these plans that require up to date habitat, pollution and population levels be considered before any development can proceed.

Mark Massara will be joined in Santa Rosa by Sierra Club Redwood Chapter Chair Margaret Pennington

and in Eureka by North Group Conservation Co-Chair, Diane Beck. Both meetings will focus on statewide issues and threats and give information on how you can get involved locally to protect our great coastal places for future generations.

The general public is invited.
