VALLEJO & BENICIA News: WE WON! Thanks to the diligence of EXCOM member Jerri Curry, Benicians will be assured safer and cleaner air. She helped negotiate with the city of Benicia and Valero, an agreement to install scrubbers and monitor air emissions when Valero expands their heavy crude oil operation. Kudos.

SOLANO COUNTY News: The Solano County Board of Supervisors voted for a new Solano County Park Element. Translation: The County Parks Department can start making proposals to improve existing parks and explore the idea of a Regional Park District. VALCORE RECYCLING 2003 WORKDAYS: Aug 23, Oct 4, Nov 15 and Dec 27. We work from 9 am to Noon. $50 is offered to volunteer supervisors for their favorite classroom. Thanks to all for bringing their valuable recyclables to Vallejo.

A big thank you to Al Molnar for helping me get things ready for our recycling and composting exhibits at the Solano County Fair on July 5.
