Redwood Chapter river trippin' 2001: Klamath and Eel Rivers

Last summer Redwood Chapter hosted a National Sierra Club Activist Outing on the Klamath River. Plans are underway for another rafting trip on the Klamath next July. We're planning the trip in conjunction with the annual Chinook fish count on the Salmon River (tributary of the Klamath.) There will also be optional opportunities for participating in the fish count (training and swimming sections of the river with mask and snorkel) or removing non-native weeds. Tentative date is last week in July. Three-day rafting trip will cost approximately $300.

Redwood Chapter also hosted our first annual Eel River rafting trip in May '99. Next May we'll offer a 3 day Middle Fork Eel rafting trip ($300) and/or a 2 day rafting trip on the Main Eel from Dos Rios to just past the confluence with the North Fork Eel ($200).

Look for more information in the February 2001 Needles. Contact Margaret Pennington 829-2294, penningt@sonic.net.
