VALCORE Community Recycling

Thanks to Adienna Peabody for handing our recycling and Sierra Club information at Vallejo's Farmers' Market on October 13. Thanks also to Ray Anderson and Nicole Bobetsky for finishing a couple of projects at the recycling Center that day.

VALCORE WORKDAY: Our first work day in 2002 will be January 6. Christmas Trees will be coming in for recycling so more help is needed. We work from 9 am to Noon. $50 is offered to volunteer supervisors for their favorite classroom.

VALCORE Community Recycling is our grassroots recycling center located at 38 Sheridan St., Vallejo (707-645-8258). It is run solely by 8 non-profit member groups who share in the sale of the materials. When you bring your newspapers, cardboard, cereal boxes, glass, aluminum, pet plastic, office paper and magazines to VALCORE, you benefit the member groups and keep the money in Solano County instead of going to the big guys. You can donate all your CRV containers directly to Sierra Club in the Buy-Back area to raise more money for the club.

Current member groups include your Sierra Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Solano-Napa Area Agency on Aging, VNIP, and two adult developmentally disabled organizations: Solano Diversified Services and Crest Adult School. Please consider bringing your recyclables down to the recycling center located at 38 Sheridan Street in Vallejo at least once a year. For a flyer with directions and more details, call 707 644-9183 or e-mail jabogner@juno.com
