Sonoma County Elections - Highs and Lows* for our Sierra Club endorsed candidates

Sam Salmon and Lynn Morehouse in Windsor were both reelected. Linda Kelley was the top vote getter in the Sebastopol City Council race, as was Ken Brown in Sonoma. However Larry Robinson (Sebastopol) and Larry Barnett (Sonoma) are technically in third place in each of their respective races, but with such close vote counts that the final results are still undetermined - so it's "hold the Champagne" until the final count is in.

The same story held in Santa Rosa, with Steve Rabinowitsch coming in with high votes but Marsha Vas Dupre needing to make up 100+ votes in the final tally to keep her council seat. Carol Dean was unsuccessful in her bid for a Santa Rosa seat. Petaluma's results were most disheartening. Incumbent Janice Cader-Thompson is also 100 votes down from the third seat and waiting final results and incumbent Matt Maguire lost his seat on the Petaluma Council.

A big thank-you goes out to all these fine candidates. Sierra Club applauds you all for your willingness to help our community by running for office.

* As of November 13th, the final outcome for Petaluma, Sebastopol, Sonoma and Santa Rosa City Council races were still undetermined due to close vote counts.
