Activist/Volunteers Needed: Environmental Dinner Volunteers: Feb.7, 2004 is our annual dinner. We have a group of efficient and lively people working on the event but we do need more hands; preparing decorations beforehand, decorating and setting up the day of the dinner. Could you join our Events Group or spend several hours helping us prepare for this festive dinner? If you want to meet enthusiastic and fun people and help in a good cause, call Diana at 823-4293. Environmental Center Staff: Volunteer one afternoon a week (or a month). Help keep the Environmental Center open more hours. Read your novel, or share in group tasks, meet the public and be involved. 823-4293. Sonoma Group Conservation Committee: Are you concerned about conservation issues? Would you be interested in doing research on subjects like gaming casinos in Sonoma County? Or airport expansion? Is forest protection more your thing? Or the County's Disaster Plan? Join the Conservation Committee and learn more, explore more, do more. We meet first Monday of every month. See the Meeting Calendar for specifics. Looking for small combo that plays jazz/upbeat music for an event in February. call Diana 823-4293. Secretary needed to take minutes for the Water Committee and Timber Coalition - once or twice a month. Learn about current issues and be with an energized group of people. Contact Roni; bvds4@juno.com. Sonoma Group Writer: Have you always dreamed of being a published writer? Work with local Sierra Club leadership to inform our members about environmental issues and the Sonoma Group's response. Your articles will appear in the Redwood Needles! Wilderness Campaign Volunteers: Protect California’s Wild Places! California residents and Sierra Club volunteers have a proud history of protecting its wild places through grassroots volunteerism and political activism. Now you can join us in one of California’s most ambitious campaigns to protect our remaining wild places. Dave Westman (510) 622-0290 ext.220, dave.westman@sierraclub.org.
