How Low Can We Go? Series
Local Climate Action Initiative Workshop

Thursday, December 13, 2007
6:30 to 9:00 PM

Environmental Center
55A Ridgway Avenue, Santa Rosa
(off Cleveland Ave., North of College Ave., South of Coddingtown)

Presented by:

  • Matt Vander Sluis, Global Warming Program Manager, Planning and Conservation League

Come find out about the Local Climate Action Initiative Toolkit which:

  • Describes state and local policies that, if adopted or better enforced, would cut the carbon footprint of new developments
  • Highlights governments that have successfully implemented these policies
  • Provides tips on how to organize community support and governmental adoption of such measures

Policies highlighted in the toolkit include the consideration of global warming in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); local green building and energy efficiency standards; and regional transportation, land use, water, and air quality plans.

The Planning and Conservation League is a legislative advocacy group that has been at the forefront of environmental battles for more than 40 years.
