Our March meeting date has not been determined yet. Watch for the next Lake Group newsletter for a meeting announcement. Grading Ordinance Committee Update The Grading Advisory Committee is an advisory committee to the Lake County Board of Supervisors that was formed to review the current grading ordinance and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for its revision. In particular, the current ordinance provides an exemption for "ongoing agricultural uses, which needs to be clarified. At the first meeting on Dec. 12, 2002, ground rules were discussed and agreed upon. The group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month for several months. For further information about the Lake County Grading Ordinance Advisory Committee, contact Paul Marchand, 707-277-7670. Black Forest Update U.S. Representative Mike Thompson has submitted an emergency request for funding which will be considered by the House in the weeks to come. The BLM is also considering a land exchange for a portion of the property. The Lake County Land Trust, after a mailing to Buckingham and Riviera residents, is receiving a good response to its appeal for donations. For more information on how you can help save the Black Forest, call Lake County Land Trust, 707-995-1398. |
