"Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body." - Seneca I'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to the Sonoma Group's Treasurer, Naomi Davis. A behind-the-scenes hard worker, the keeper of the money and always someone to count on (no pun intended), Naomi has had to drop her Monday's in the Environmental Center to address her husband's health challenges. We send healing thoughts to their family and a resounding thanks for two years balancing our books. Thanks Naomi for your dedication Marsha Taylor, Volunteer Coordinator, Sonoma Group.

Activist/Volunteers Needed: Chapter Secretary: Travel to wonderful Northern California towns and utilize your organizational talents. Work from a laptop or by hand. Be at the pulse of every action the Redwood Chapter explores. 8-14 hours per month depending on transcription time and capabilities. No previous experience necessary. This is a fun and exciting opportunity! Environmental Center Office Staff: Volunteer one afternoon a week (or a month). Help keep the Environmental Center open more hours. Read your novel, or share in Group tasks, meet the public and be involved. Awards Dinner Volunteers: March 15 is our annual dinner. Do you have a couple of hours that night to contribute? Or perhaps a few to help make arrangements for the dinner's success? A 2 to 4 hour one-time commitment is all you need to give. We can use you for a variety of event-related tasks. Wilderness Campaign Volunteers: Protect California’s Wild Places! California residents and Sierra Club volunteers have a proud history of protecting its wild places through grassroots volunteerism and political activism. Now you can join us in one of California’s most ambitious campaigns to protect our remaining wild places. Dave Westman (510) 622-0290 ext.220, dave.westman@sierraclub.org. For more information on these and other opportunities, call: Office Coordinator Tom Devlin (544-7651) or come by the office at our new location (404 suite A, Mendocino Ave. Santa Rosa) Tuesday or Thursday 12-4:00 or by appointment. | |
