A new report just released by Greenbelt Alliance says Sonoma County needs to take action now to manage future growth.
The report, Toward a Bright Future: Updating Sonoma County's General Plan, examines the County's General Plan and recommends how to update it to deal with the county's projected growth of 130,000 people by 2025 - the equivalent of adding a city the size of Santa Rosa.
The County has been working on updating the plan since 2001; this report is the first comprehensive analysis of the process since it began.
