In honor of our 30th anniversary, the events committee has organized a very special series on local environmental education. In addition to the popular dinner and awards ceremony, we are holding a workshop on reducing traffic at schools plus poster presentations will be displayed at the dinner and other venues.

Our featured speaker this year is Dr. Carl Wong. Sonoma County's Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Wong will introduce inspiring local K-12 environmental education initiatives and present the awards with the assistance of Ray Peterson, President of the Sonoma County Board of Education. The master of ceremonies is Craig Litwin, Sebastopol City Council Member and Sonoma County Conservation Action Co-Director.

Award nominations will be solicited in late January from the environmental and educational communities: www.envirocenersoco.org/awards. Recipients will be selected in mid February via web vote by members of the Sonoma County Conservation Council.
