Activist/Volunteers Needed:

Political Committee: Be in the middle of election action! Join the committee that meets candidates for local elections, interviews and evaluates their beliefs and performances and finally leads the Sierra Club in the support of those candidates who back strong environmental legislation. Redwood Chapter Membership Chair: Welcome and match new memebers with their interests within the local Sierra Club, implement a new member contact plan, co-ordinate sharing information with Group Membership Chairs. Contact Margaret Pennington, penningt@sonic.net, 707-479-6682.

Environmental Center Help: Would you like to help several hours a week at the Sierra Club office in Santa Rosa? No experience necessary-light work. Choose your own hours. Call Diana 823-4293.

North Group Membership Chair: Interested Sierra Club member needed to welcome new and prospective members at quarterly orientations about local conservation and group issues. Present Chair will assist as needed. Contact Becky, 839-8709, linabec@mailstation.com

North Group Newsletter Editor: Seeking a volunteer to publish the North Group News. Writing, editing, and desktop publishing skills required; flatbed scanner a plus. Most articles are submitted by e-mail. This has been found to be an interesting and informative job, not least because you often get to meet the active and cheerful people who write the articles! You will receive the eternal gratitude of the North Group, and as much help as you would like. All qualified, interested people please contact Ned Forsyth, ExCom Chair, at 826-2417, or at eaf7@humboldt.edu.

Sonoma Group Environmental Forum Committee: Vice-chair and Committee members needed. Help plan the monthly meetings for the Sierra Club. Design speakers and programs. Create newsletter write ups and meet exciting environmental advocates throughout our community. 1-6 hours per month including 3 hours every third Wednesday of the month. Clean Energy and Global Climate Protection leader or follower, Sonoma Group: Please help get our local Sierra Club and Sonoma County more active on Clean Energy and Climate Protection. 2 or more hours per month average. Contact Veronica Jacobi at vjacobi@sonic.net or 575-5594.

Sonoma Group Alternate Representative to Sonoma County Conservation Council (SCCC): Attend approximately one-third to one-half of monthly 2 hour meetings held on the last Monday of most months at the Environmental Center; contact Veronica Jacobi: vjacobi@sonic.net or 575-5594.

Riparian Protection "Lead"or researcher & Water Conservation "Lead" or researcher, Sonoma Group: Do you love the Russian River or your local creek? Are you interested in protecting our water quality for people, wildlife and fish? Please volunteer to help the Water Committee with riparian/water recharge areas protection or with promoting water conservation and re-use in our county. We need your help!
