Sonoma Group Report

By Peter Ashcroft, Sonoma Group Chair

- The Sierra Club office has moved. The new office is around the corner at 404 Mendocino Ave. Suite A, in Santa Rosa. Please drop by to see the new space. The move highlighted the need for a little Spring Cleaning, and Tom Devlin will be tackling that job over the coming month(s). If you've ever left any items "in storage" at the office, this would be a good time to recover them.

- The RHI signature drive is wrapping up. If all goes according to plan, we will have submitted the petitions on Monday, May 22. A hearty thanks to all those who helped. When all is said and done, we will have collected more than 22,000 signatures in ten weeks. As we move into the next phase of the campaign, we face a host of challenges, including public education and fund raising. Check the web page (www.ruralheritage.net) for details of the campaign as they develop, or opportunities to volunteer.

- After many years of service, Tom Bahning has announced his intention to retire as Treasurer. We all owe Tom a deep debt of gratitude for the job he's done. Tom's retirement means that we’re looking for a replacement, so contact a member of the Group Excom if you are interested.
