I apologize to Sequoia Paddler Bob Clemens for omitting his name from the list of leaders attending the Redwood Chapter outing leader's retreat. Sorry Bob. He was a valuable contribution to the retreat. His demonstration of how to cross a swift flowing creek was helpful. The Sierra had an early snowmelt and the Benson Hut work parties will be affected. We can't use a chain saw after July 1st. We tried to get people together by e-mail last month to go up to cut wood. At this writing I don't know if we succeeded. We need volunteers for all the work parties. The stove needs to be brought in and the downstairs painted. Lots of work. Beautiful scenery. See our outings listings. People often call for information about leader training and wilderness first aid. This is all information that was in the last two newsletters. Are you reading your newsletters? |
We are all volunteers here and could use help. Please call if you have time to help with tasks. I have had many calls about backpacking trips and people who said they would lead trips. So what happened?? The annual Russian River Celebration will be held from Sept. 11-19. Many different events will be held. Check website for listing. A new event will be the gathering of water from creeks of the Russian River watershed. We will have a ceremonial event to mingle the waters that folks have brought forth. Have a great summer. |
