What's up with all these Options, what are the alternatives? Where are Sonoma County's forests going next? 230,000 acres of Sonoma County forests are being discussed right now, in connection with revising the County General Plan. This involves timberland to agricultural (often vineyard) conversions in Sonoma County -- who's minding the store and what's really at stake? You've been reading about this issue in the Press Democrat and in emails -- it's been a discussion item at the Planning Commission and will be at the Board of Supervisors. The Sierra Club wants to see strong forest protections! Get the lastest word!

Please join us in learning more about it all with a panel discussion of experts. Looking forward to plenty of question from the audience!

Call 544-7651 for more information. All Sierra Club members and the general public are cordially invited.

Panelists will include:

  • Chris Poehlmann - Friends of the Gualala River
  • Helen Libeu - Forestry Activist
  • Jill Butler - Calif. Dept. of Forestry
  • Peter Ashcroft - Redwood Chapter, Sierra Club
  • Jay Halcomb - Sonoma Group, Sierra Club
  • Sonoma County Permits and Resource Management (PRMD)
