Coalition for the Outdoor Recreation Plan Website Announcement

How is the Open Space District spending your money? New web site tells all Did you know that Sonoma County has less than one third of the Bay Area average of regional park land? Curious about exactly how the Sonoma County Open Space is spending your money? Looking for ways to stand up for more trails and public access? All this and much, much more is available on-line at www.sonomatrails.org. The web site, sponsored by the Coalition for the Outdoor Recreation Plan, has an extensive resource library which provides a detailed look into the Open Space District revenues and site-by-site expenditures. Sonoma County public access politics are covered in detail as well. The web site is the brainchild of Sierra Club member, Larry Modell.

The Coalition for the Outdoor Recreation Plan is an affiliation of some 20 hiking, biking, running, equestrian and conservation groups (including the Sonoma Group of the Sierra Club) representing over 12,000 county households. The coalition advocates the creation of a county-wide system of trails and parks linking the urban areas with the rural countryside. For more information, call 789-0142.
