Solano Breeze Corner

Thanks to Lauren Bobetsky for supervising the crew at the recycling center on August 24. Lauren, Nancy and Jim Chang sorted through old books getting them ready to go to the Global Book Exchange in Novato. Thanks also to Henry Cox who installed our umbrella storage rack. A big round of applause for Howard Hoffman for caulking and painting our trailer and tool shed; and recoating our roof.

VALCORE WORKDAY: October 13 at Vallejo's Farmers Market. We work from 9 am to Noon. $50 is offered to volunteer supervisors for their favorite classroom.

VALCORE Community Recycling is our grass roots recycling center. It is run solely by 8 non-profit member groups who share in the sale of the materials. When you bring your newspapers, cardboard, cereal boxes, glass, aluminum, pet plastic, office paper and magazines to VALCORE, you benefit the member groups and keep the money in Solano County instead of going to the big guys. You can donate all your CRV containers directly to Sierra Club in the Buy-Back area to raise more money for the club. Please consider bringing your recyclables down at least once a year. New Member, Old Member Potluck on Nov. 10th with guest wilderness speaker. Bring your favorite potluck dish and table setting for a fun evening. The event starts at 6 pm at the Fetterly Gallery. Ilysia Shattuck Conservation Organizer will show slides about the Sierra Club Wilderness Campaign around 7 pm. Watch your postbox for more details in October.
