Sonoma Group Political Committee - Revving up for 2002

It's difficult to believe that yet another election year will be upon us soon - but it's true. Voting for two Sonoma County Supervisor seats will take place during California's March primary If there are only two candidates in a race, the final decision will be made in March.

Many important decisions affecting the local environment are made by our County Supervisors. Land use, water supply, gravel mining, vineyard conversions, watershed health, and the Sonoma County General Plan all come under their watch. And as you know they vote against environmental concerns all too often - usually 4 to 1. That's why Sonoma Group is ramping up our political committee now. We want to get involved with the Supervisor races early and interview candidates, make endorsements and get our members involved with changing the face of the Sonoma County BOS.

To join in the "fun", please contact Margaret Pennington 829-2294, penningt@sonic.net or Marsha Taylor 546-9233, dsebright@aol.com. The Political Committee is scheduled to meet October 24, 6 PM at the Environmental Center.
