Candidate Statements for 2002 Election
Sebastopol City Council

Larry Robinson

Dear Sierra Club friends,

Thank you so much for honoring me by endorsing my candidacy for re-election to the Sebastopol City Council. I have been a Life Member since 1990 and first joined the Club in 1962. More than any other national organization, the Sierra Club has served as the environmental conscience of the country.

It is especially important now, as environmental protections are under assault on all fronts, that we work on both the global and the local levels. It is at the local level, as a City Councilmember, that I feel I can be most effective. I understand the radical interconnectedness of all public policy decisions, from transportation and traffic to land use and wastewater disposal.

My vision is to help Sebastopol become a model of a sustainable community - ecologically, economically and spiritually. Over the past four years we have made some progress in this direction, but there is a great deal of inertia to overcome. It is not easy to change "how we've always done things."

I welcome the help of Sierra Club members, both in my campaign and in the ongoing work of community education regarding truly sustainable practices.

If people would like to contribute money or time to my campaign they can mail checks to:

Thank you.
