Candidate Statements for 2002 Election
Windsor Town Council

Lynn Morehouse

I am currently seeking re-election to the Windsor Town Council.

In 1997 I was one of three councilmembers who put an Urban Growth Boundary on the ballot, which voters approved by over 70%.

I helped to develop the Downtown Plan which has resulted in our Town Green and emerging pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use development. We are also planning for a train station in our Downtown, an integrated transportation system is one of my goals.

Windsor now has a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility. We are using reclaimed water at the new high school, Town Green, and some parks. We are the first municipality in Northern California to use reclaimed water in a residential development for irrigation.

I was one of three councilmembers who voted to fund the Shiloh Urban Code for our southern gateway. It will provide a comprehensive blueprint for the area which will include mixed-use development and opportunities for higher densities to address the shortage of moderate-priced housing. By proactively planning Windsor we can help to preserve open spaces and greenbelts.

I welcome your comments, help and contributions at:
