Low Flow in the Russian River
Save the Fish!

Wednesday, November 17, 2004
7:00 to 9:00 PM
Environmental Center,
404 Mendocino Ave., Suite A
Downtown Santa Rosa

The Russian River "low flow" question has many of us scratching our heads. On all sides people say they are out to "save the fish." It appears that the regular water flows from Lake Mendocino need to be lowered for the fall Chinook run. However, it has also been stated that too low of a Russian River water flow will kill the fish.

Obviously there are numerous environmental factors to consider, and a variety of protests and debate within the Russian River community. What is a Sierra Club member to think? Come join us and try to straighten out the conflicting messages. Here's one more water issue to examine. We invite you to participate in another lively discussion.

The panel of speakers will be:

  • Brenda Adelman
    Russian River Water Protection Committee
  • Amy Harris
    Sonoma County Water Agency
  • Bill Hearn
    National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
  • Don McEnhill
    Russian Riverkeeper

Call 544-7651 for more information. All Sierra Club members and the general public are invited.
