This is an ADVENTURE tale. A travel log, and yet a story like no other. This is a story of a single woman who hiked over 2,638 miles on a backpacking adventure over the Pacific Crest Trail on her summer vacations. She will tell us of her exciting life-time of trips and describe her escapades across California, Oregon and Washington including snowstorms in May, washed out bridges, resident pet dogs tagging along, and other exploits. It took Eleanor until she was 71 to complete the Trail, and now she has published a book about her travels and will share with us.

Call 544-7651 for more information. All Sierra Club members and the general public are cordially invited.

This is a book signing and an author's tale. Join us for an exciting evening of celebration and joy for one of our favorite members. Her book is dedicated to John Muir, the Sierra Club, and acknowledges the Redwood Chapter as it was at a Chapter meeting she learned of the Pacific Crest and John Muir Trails. Her book will be available at the Forum, but if possible, please read the book ahead of time. There are copies for loan or sale ($16.00) at the Environmental Center (call 544-7651 for EC office hours) or from Regent Press of Oakland, www.regentpress.net.
