The Tongas, an Alaska Rainforest Slide Show

Avid hiker, "flatwater" canoe-er, and kayaker, Patrick Shannon, just returned from sea kayaking around the Admiralty Islands will share some stunning slides of the Tongans and Chugach National Forest. The 9.3 million acres of untouched roadless areas, the Amazon of North America, as he calls it, is a remote coastal rainforest with centuries old trees home for wolves, bear, salmon, and Bald Eagles and should be protected from intrusion. Sponsored by the Sierra Club and the Alaska Rainforest Campaign. Free. August 7th, at the Napa Main Library, 7PM.
