Our outings leaders are trained in first aid and CPR. They carry first aid kits.

To participate in a Sierra Club Outing you must sign a Liability Waiver (MS-Word) (PDF). Car Pooling is encouraged to conserve resources. Such arrangements are made by the participants, who assume the risk. The Sierra Club does not insure car pooling and assumes no liability for it.

Sat May 3 - Kids Hike at Point Reyes
CANCELLED due to leader's broken toe
Class E3A. This easy hike will follow the Earthquake trail and the Woodpecker trail and continue to the Miwok Village just outside the Visitor's Center at Point Reyes National Seashore. Expect to see wildflowers, deer, and elk. Wear layered clothing, a hat, and sunscreen. Bring a snack and binoculars if you have them. Make a day of it and spend some time in the charming town of Point Reyes Station. Children must be accompanied by a parent. The hike starts at 10AM. of)-Ridge Trail hike for hardy moms!
From our meeting point at Kennedy Park we'll view the Napa River and
then mosey all the way up through Skyline Park to the top of the Rimrock
Trail before returning to the cars. Whew! A beautiful trek, but 11 miles
total (Class S11B). There will also be a group that turns around at Skyline
for those who feel 7 miles will be enough (Class M7A). There is a $4 per
non-member fee to enter Skyline Park. Meet at Napa's Kennedy Park picnic
grounds at 8:30AM. This hike is co-sponsored by the Land Trust of Napa County.

Sun May 18 - Skyline Park
Class E5A Leisurely late spring walk up Lake Marie Road in Skyline Park.
We will eat lunch at Lake Marie. Carpool meets at 10:00AM in front of Blockbuster
Video near the old Montgomery Wards in Napa or meet at 10:30AM at the main
parking lot at Skyline Park. Entrance fee is $5.00 per car. Wear layered
clothing, hiking shoes and bring water and lunch. Rain cancels. Leader:

Sat May 31 - Buchli Station Bird Preserve Hike.
Class E3A. Meet at the Buchli station parking lot at 8:30AM. This half day hike
is very flat and follows the old salt ponds dikes. The area can be great
for wild life watching - mainly birds, every thing from migratory shore
birds to the not often seen Flamingos (no promises). Hiking boots advisable
but not a must. Bring water, sun protection and a snack if you want. Return

Sat June 21 Napa Group Hike - Jack London State Park
Class M6B This early morning hike to Vista Point overlooking the Valley of
the Moon is designed for singles. Wear hiking shoes and bring water.
Carpool meets in front of Blockbusters Video, Bel Aire parking lot,
Napa at 8:45 am or meet at 9:30 am in the State Park parking lot to your right.
$5 per car. You may bring your lunch. After the hike we’ll picnic,
tour Beauty Ranch, Wolf House and the museum. Leader: Alison at 253-0864.
Sat. July 5 Napa Group Hike - Archer Taylor Preserve
M5C This is a half-day hike up Redwood Creek in the shade to Devil’s Well.
Carpool meets in front of Blockbusters Video, Bel Aire parking lot, Napa at 8:30am.
Wear hiking boots. The trail is uneven and steep. Bring water,
sun protection and a snack if you want. Return to the cars at about 11:30.

Sat July 12 Napa Group - Vineyard Educational Tour & Hike #2
8:30-11:30am. M4A This outing is for adults interested in learning how
vineyards and nature coexist.. The 600 acre ranch, located in a small fold
in the hills outside of St. Helena, has 113 acres planted to vines.
In 1999, a 480 acre conservation easement was donated to the Land Trust of Napa County,
forever preserving the land as open space. We will be guided by a viticulturist
who will explain biodynamic farming and other sustainable grape growing practices.
On this outing participants will experience a unique, innovative project that required
cooperation from thousands of people. Besides this surprise we will enjoy snacks which
you bring in a protected glade at the top of a steep hill. After the outing you may wish
to join our hosts to taste their wine. Reservations are required. Contact leader

Sat July 19 Napa Group Evening Hike - Bothe-Napa Valley State Park
Class M7A Hike in the shade of Ritchie Canyon to the Traverso homestead.
Carpool meets at 3:15pm in front of Blockbusters Video, Bel Aire parking lot Napa or at 4pm
at the first parking lot on the right after entrance. $4 per car. Wear hiking shoes,
bring water, sack dinner, jacket and flashlight (just in case). Leader: Alison at 253-0864
Sat Aug 2 Napa Group Hike - Skyline Park
M4B This is a half-day hike, 8:30 to 11:30am. Skyline is a private park formed
by local citizens to offer hiking to the public. Parking costs $5/ car up to 4 people
plus $1 for each additional person. Wear hiking boots. The trail is uneven and steep.
