Napa outings leaders offer a wide variety of outings that are safe, fun, and inspired.

Our outings leaders are trained in first aid and CPR. They carry first aid kits.

Sierra Club Outings are open to members and the general public. The outings leaders often have specific requirements for a particular outing; be sure to check the listing. General instructions To Hikers

To participate in a Sierra Club Outing you must sign a Liability Waiver (MS-Word) (PDF). Car Pooling is encouraged to conserve resources. Such arrangements are made by the participants, who assume the risk. The Sierra Club does not insure car pooling and assumes no liability for it.

Sat 1 Nov - Hike ridge below Stags Leap
8:30am This is a half-day hike along the east side ridge below Stags Leap. Enjoy great views of the vineyards in their autumn color. Parking is north of Yountville crossroad on the east side of Silverado Trail just before the County Corporation yard. Meet at 8:30am, wear hiking boots, the trail is uneven and steep. Bring water, sun protection and a snack if you want. Returning to the cars at about 11:30. For more information call Penny at 944-2058. S-3-C

Sun 16 Nov - Kids’ Hike at Lake Hennessey
10 AM to Noon. Class E2A. We will hike along the waterfront looking for waterfowl and enjoying the fall foliage. Wear layered clothing, a hat, and boots that can get muddy. Sat 6 Dec - Hike Mead Ranch, Atlas Peak
8:30am. Class M4B. This is a half-day hike on the Mead Ranch, Atlas Peak. Carpooling will be from Bel Aire parking lot at 8:00am. Hike through oak woodlands and have lovely view of the old Soda Springs resort and the majestic Napa Valley before you. Wear hiking boots; the trail is uneven and steep. Bring water, sun protection and a snack if you want. Returning to the cars about 11:30. For more information call Penny at 944-2058.

Thur 1 Jan - New Year's Day Hike - Sugarloaf Ridge State Park
9:00am. Class M7B. Walk off that headache on a leisurely hike up to Bald Mountain. Aproximately 7 miles round trip and 1500 feet elevation gain at a relaxed pace. If we are lucky, we will see beautiful views of both Napa and Sonoma valleys. Meet at 9:00am at the trailhead parking lot that is immediately left after you go through the entrance kiosk at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Wear layered clothing and sturdy hiking books, and bring rain gear, water and lunch. Heavy rain cancels. $4 entrance fee. Contact Alison for more information at 287-1907 or allyhike@aol.com.

8:30am. Class M10B. Clear the cobwebs. Start the year with the traditional morning hike up Mount St Helena. Meet 8:30am at the Highway 29 parking lot in Robert Louis Stevenson State Park. Leaderless Napa carpool meets 7:30am near Blockbuster Video in the Bel Aire shopping center, Napa. Bring brunch. Be prepared for weather. Heavy rain cancels.
