BACKGROUND: I have served as a prosecutor in Sacramento, San Francisco and Napa Counties.

REMARKS: As an attorney I have some experience, and a keen interest in environmental law. I am familiar with the important issues of land and water use and how they intersect with state and local law. I have also written about the environment for a national publication. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the ExCom in pursuit of environmentally sound judicial, legislative and regulatory developments, locally and in the region.

Due to my legal experience, I can analyze environmental issues from many perspectives, which makes me a stronger advocate. In addition to the legal aspects of environmental conservation and protection, I am interested in issues that haven't received a lot of notice, such as pesticide drift and urban runoff. While I am new to Napa, I recognize that resources such as rivers, streams, agriculture and open space are crucial to the way of life in Napa County. I appreciate the natural beauty of our county, from the ridge tops on skyline drive to the wetlands on the southern edge of the county.

It takes a community to protect the environment. As a member of the Executive Committee I would seek to persuade and advocate on behalf of our natural resources.
