  • Volunteers Needed: The Sierra Club is an all volunteer grass-roots organization. Whatever we accomplish is through the efforts of people like you, who share a love for nature and desire to protect it. With your help, we can get more done. Check out the opportunities below.

Volunteer opportunities & committee work: The Sonoma Group's decision-making body is the Executive Committee, elected once a year by members. There are also many smaller committees that provide support for the group, or focus on specific issues. Follow your interests; all groups welcome new volunteers and members.

  • Media: Send announcements to local media. Must have computer skills (email in particular). Contact: Jay Halcomb at 869-3302 (halcomb@sonic.net).
  • Membership: Help with events like the annual Sierra Club gear sale or our new members meeting. Tom Devlin 544-7651 (tom.devlin@sierraclub.org).

  • Environmental Forums: Help set up and take down at our monthly environmental forums. Help plan forums. Annabel Ascher annabelascher@yahoo.com 508-9645.
  • Political: Be a local politics watcher in your part of the county. Meet the politicians! Suzanne Doyle carsort@sbcglobal.net.
  • Conservation: Work on Sonoma County conservation issues - fight global warming, preserve clean water, protect forests. Suzanne Doyle (carsort@sbcglobal.net).
  • Office: Lots of clerical tasks - copying, mailing, etc. Simple things, but someone has to do them. Tom Devlin 544-7651 (tom.devlin@sierraclub.org).
